This book is the first of a trilogy, collectively entitled Voices From the Well . Each of the three novels focuses on the unfolding dynamic of a sequence of relationships, and the emotional and spiritual growth they catalyze. Each book can be seen as one of the islands that Odysseus stops or is shipwrecked on (those of Calypso, Circe, and Nausicaa) during his long journey back to his wife Penelope, tirelessly weaving her web, in a remote tower of her besieged palace, at home on ithaka.
