The author, Jonathan Miller, aged 22, in 1970 traveled to india to study with His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi at his Academy in Rishikesh. Miller provides stories of his travels to and in india as well as 156 images, 152 of which he shot on slide film, converted to digital and reworked extensively for printing and publication. . The Beatles had lived in Maharishi's Academy in 1968. The world in 1970 was undergoing and enormous transformation from the cold war through the hippies to the spiritual revival which eventually led to the great prosperity and improved stability of our modern times . Chapter 1 is a compendium of much of what led the author .to meditate, to travel to india, and then the first steps of the trip itself. There are subtitled sections for those of a linear mind.
