Searching for Seven Treasures is the first book of The Hart Family Series. The story takes place in Southern Ohio and features the values of nature being preserved through Native American heritage. This first book features Granny Mabelle, who is the oldest living member of the Hart family, and a Native American Cherokee. She loves to spend time with her family and teach the younger members the Cherokee way of life she lived as a young child. The story is built around two other main characters, Lydie Hart and Molly May. Lydie is the great granddaughter of Granny Maybelle. She has been give the Native American name of Sunflower. Her constant companion and best friend is Molly May, her little dog. The Search for Seven Treasures begins one morning with Sunflower and Molly May visiting Granny Maybelle at her cabin. They do not know it, but their grandmother has planned a surprise for them that turns into a fun and learning adventure.
